Our "first" barbecue!

On Saturday, Kim, Tim and Ashleigh brought our new barbecue and microwave from Conway to Greers Ferry for us. In return, Ashleigh asked for a "juicy" steak! What better meal to have on a new barbecue? Since the house is still "in progress" I made the salad at the motorhome, baked rolls ahead of time, seasoned the steaks and packed up silverware, paper plates, napkins and drinks! My mom made twice-baked potatoes! It was a YUMMY meal! Tim and Don set up the barbecue, while Ashleigh gave "us" a tour of the house! The amazing thing...she was with us for a few days over Spring break, she remembered the names of the guys working at the house! There was no one working on the house today but during dinner, Troy and his wife, Louise stopped by. We had enough to feed them as well, but they just stopped by for a few minutes to show Louise the progress on the house.

After our early dinner, Don started up his tractor! Everyone had a turn on it, everyone except for Nana! The grass got trimmed and Ashleigh had a great time driving with everyone! It was an early day for everyone; the kids had to drive back to Cabot and Don & I needed to stop by the boat storage to unload some stuff we won't be needing for the next couple of weeks as we head west for the Baker-Vegas race.

The house is just about finished but Don and I are heading out for about three weeks. We took off today and headed to Little Rock. We are getting new topper awnings over the slide-outs. Don is also going to have them look at the dash air that we had worked on when we were in Knoxville last year. It didn't work too long...on the drive home from Knoxville it stopped working again! It looks like while Don is taking care of that...I'll be heading back to Greers Ferry to see the dentist! I chipped a tooth last night! I figured I'd better get it taken care of instead of having to find a dentist that I don't know somewhere in the middle of nowhere!

Furby had his first initiation in motorhome travel today and he did pretty well! He was in his carrier and meowed for a few minutes, but once I brought his carrier up to the front he stayed quiet the rest of the ride! It was probably a good way to get him used to motorhoming instead of having a long day for his first day of travel!

We didn't get far today, but we are headed west! It's been a long time since we've traveled and one of the first times I really didn't want to go! I'll be anxious to head back...because once we get back...we start moving in! :-)

Okay, get that thing fixed and head our way. Wish we could take the time to go on west with you guys but just not going to happen this time around.

So many places to go, so many things that need to be done. What to do? Go West.. When the house needs you the most..It has to be hard to leave "a dream in progress". When you get back, the house should be ready to move in. We hope.......

Drive safe and have fun in Cali. Then return to the move in process and enjoy your new beautiful home.

Well, it looks like you'll finally be able to get that coach back on the road again! We're really sorry we couldn't get as far as your new castle, but we're back at Hart Ranch for the summer and somewhat settled in. Have fun at the Run with Ostranders. Wish we could be there, too!

We miss you guys!!!!
